Widely-acclaimed author of
Knockemstiff, a collection of powerful shorts set in a small Ohio town,
Don Pollock will be speaking and reading from his work tonight at Roosevelt in Auditorium Room 244, at 5pm. Afterwards, he'll join
Scott Blackwood's fiction workshop at 6pm to critique student work.
Chuck Palahniuk called
Knockemstiff "more engaging than any new fiction in years," while the
Washington Post claims "Pollock doesn’t so much push the envelope as incinerate it, but his potent narrative gifts (and pitch-black humor) make it impossible to look away from the flames."
